Emmanuel Amunike, the Golden Eaglets head wants to leave the National team






Golden Eaglets head coach, Emmanuel Amunike has hinted that he wants to leave the national team.


Speaking in a recent radio programme, the former super eagles player turned coach said that he is no longer interested in training the U17 players – a squad which he led to win the just concluded FIFA world in Chile.

The coach chorused that he would love to take up other challenges in his career, he however feels he has done his bit for the Team.

“I have been in this category for years and to be honest I am not interested in continuing with the under-17s, we have to be honest with ourselves, one has to move forward and I am looking forward to the next challenge.

“We will see what the future brings,”he told Nigeria Info FM.

Amunike was the assistant coach to Manu Garba who led Nigeria to win the U-17 FIFA world cup in Dubai in 2013. He later on took over from Manu Garba.

Former Abia Warriors coach Ladan Bosso has been appointed new coach of Nigeria premier league side El Kanemi Warriors.
Bosso takes over from Kelechi Emeteole, who ensured the Maiduguri club were not relegated this past season after they finished 13th  on the league table with 49 points from 38 matches.
Former Nigeria U20 coach Bosso, who was linked with a return to hometown club Niger Tornadoes, has previously handled Wikki Tourists and Kano Pillars.

Nigeria Premier league New season will kick off on January 31



The new Nigeria league season will kick off on January 31 with a fixtures’ draw slated for January 15, officials have announced.
Enyimba won a seventh Nigeria championship in November and, along with runners-up Warri Wolves, will represent the country in the 2016 CAF Champions League, with the preliminary rounds of the competition fixed for February.
Third-placed Nasarawa United and Federation Cup winners Akwa United will feature in next year’s Confederation Cup.
Bayelsa United, FC Taraba, Kwara United and Sharks were relegated. Niger Tornadoes, Plateau United, MFM FC and Ikorodu United have been promoted to the Nigerian top-flight from the lower Nigeria National League (NNL).

The Ugandan, who boasted pre-match that beating Skoro would be his Christmas gift to his countrymen, was better on the night. He was lightning-fast in offence and clever in defence, evading Skoro’s punches.
In the national super middleweight challenge contest, Rasheed ‘Afonja Warrior’ Abolaji defeated Sunday ‘Golden Child’ Ajuwa by unanimous decision.

Odion Ighalo has set history as the first Watfordplayer to score in five consecutive in the English Premier League.
The Super Eagles forward was on target againstChelsea in Saturday’s English topflight encounter.
Ighalo was not closed down as he dribbled into the box and his left-footed strike deflected off Cahill, wrong-footing Courtois and sneaking inside the near post.
